Tomohon is indeed known as a producer of flowers. Because of cool weather and fertile land, local people encouraged to cultivate various kinds of flowers bloom and when the season arrives, the flowers here will look very beautiful.
Tomohon is a hill resort located about 22 miles east of Manado, North Sulawesi provincial capital. Tomohon consists of 35 villages in five districts of Western, Eastern, Central, South and North.

Each year, the festival is usually held in June and July. During this event, you can watch the flower parade through the city. A flower tournaments are also held during the festival where participants from different cities in Indonesia to take part in hill Inspiration.

When visiting the city during the blooming season, you'll see the majestic scenery of colorful flowers at the foot of beautiful mountains. This panorama looks perfect when the sun rises and the morning fog had just disappeared.

You can find lots of flower gardens at the foot of Mount Lokon. During the blooming season in December, January or April, will look very beautiful scenery with Mount Lokon in the background.

In addition, you also can walk along the town's main street filled with flower shops on both sides. Some of them have their own flower garden, it allows you to choose your favorite flowers and pick them directly.

This tourist location is very easily reached from Manado to travel by car for several hours. But if you do not bring a private car, it's worth renting a car.

Flower gardens on mountain slopes there are many and some of them are far away from main roads, while roads here steep and winding. So the car is the right vehicle to enjoy the beauty of this long bloom season.

Besides the beauty of flower gardens, Tomohon which has mountainous and hilly terrain which stretches from North to South, making the scenery around the city the more stunning with high mountains Menulang.

There are four volcanoes in Tomohon and two of whom are still active volcano and Mount Mahawu Lokon. Mount Lokon itself having an altitude of 1580 meters is the highest mountain in Tomohon.

The cool mountains and the beauty of colorful flowers will definitely make your heart calm. If you want to feel this, you can come to Tomohon starting July 20 to 24
